We’re going to the Royal Mint over the bank holiday and also Castell Coch. What else is there to see with a 5 year old boy that is near? We’re quite partial to a beach (not for sunbathing, for digging or pebble throwing in the sea if no sand) and we’ll probably stay over two or three nights (going tomorrow from London) but haven’t booked anything yet.

TIA 🙂

Absolutely agree, the secret beach at the Bendricks is one of the best with an easy flat walk along miles of coast (some sand, with flat rocks.) You can walk to Sully for amazing rockpools, have food at The Captains Wife and then wander over Sully Island (if the tide is right!)

Techniquest is great. I love Big Pit too. Barry or Porthcawl for seaside.

Just so you know it is Pride Cymru this weekend so there will be 40000 people descending on Cardiff, there will be road closures and getting into central Cardiff may be more tricky. The other stuff should be fine though!

My kids absolutely loved Big Pit when we went several years ago. I thought they’d like it, but it surpassed expectations. St Fagsns was also a success.

Thank you all, we had a wonderful time. So much so that we didn’t want to come home and are going again as soon as possible.

Where did you visit in the end? (Over invested in someone else's holiday!)
