Something has bitten DH - what could it be? [Pic]

He has been for advice at the Pharmacy, is taking anti-histamine and will go to Dr if it suddenly starts spreading. We are just curious!

His little finger is swollen and painful and there's what looks like a puncture mark, but then there's this weird little white line snaking away from the hole. Has anyone else had something like this?

We're in the UK, so it's unlikely to be anything truly gross like botfly larvae.

My friend used to get horsefly bites now and then working in a stable. They looked similar to that. I hope it's better soon.

Hmm. I’m no expert but I’d say that definitely looks like a shark bite.

Probably horsefly they can be really nasty. I had one and got a red line going up my arm - had to go to a and e for anti b's. Horse flies feed on all sorts of crap (sorry !) so more likley to give you an infection.
Draw a line around the red area with a biro and watch out for the red area spreading or a red line tracking out from it. If it does get some medical advice (OOH/minor injuries is is fine)

Horsefly bite would make sense, yes. Was just intrigued by the little white line.
