BTEC question, help needed

I can’t figure this out. If my daughter got a merit level 1 in the exam but higher level 2 marks for all the coursework could she get a level 2 qualification overall?

Possibly... it really depends on the points she got for each component. And the exact marks she got on the coursework. If she got L2 passes on the coursework she may just have a level 1 qualification overall. If she got distinctions then I would expect her to have a L2 grade overall.

However... btec last week have changed all the points and lowered the grades so 95 points overall was a distinction, as of last week its now only a merit...

So the grade she has come out with may be not what her teacher told her... I told several of my girls they had a achieved distinctions (calculated using the btec calculator), only now they havent they have merits..
