Scars hand foot and mouth

My five year old has been left with horrible scarring from hand foot and mouth up his legs, arms and all over the backs of his hands. It was about three weeks ago. I have been trying to keep the area moisturised but they are dark browny/ purple and show no signs of going. What can I treat them with?

It is just time really, they fade after a while.
My sons finger and toe nails all fell off after a few weeks too.
Awful infection all together.

Oh my god!! How awful and painful.

My ds had brown/dark red marks for several weeks after the infection but they faded then disappeared eventually. The ones on his feet took longest to go if I remember, much longer than I thought they would.

Yes just time. I had it 5 yrs ago and never retained full feeling in some of my fingertips. It's something to be aware of.

My son had it a few weeks ago, they turned a purple colour and then just seem to dry out. Now he has loads of patches of dry skin where each blister was, except on his ankle which is still purple.
