Quick Baking Question!

Recipe wants plain flour and baking powder. If I leave out the baking powder can I use self raising?
It's for beetroot muffins 😁

I always do that. I tend to find that recipes which say plain flour and baking powder and/or bicarbonate of soda always end up tasting metallic, self raising doesn't.

It might not be quite as light, but it's always perfectly light enough, it doesn't come out like a lump of lead Grin. And for this particular case, it depends how much beetroot is in it, because that could weigh it down whichever method you use. I'd still go with the SR though.
