I’m on Holiday, have been since Friday (Haven Hell). Since Friday l have received 19 calls from area codes that l don’t recognise and have not taken the calls. Today with annoyance l googled a few of the phone numbers, it turns out someone is trying to prank me, the numbers are one of those stupid numbers that ring and pretend to be a cab firm saying you owe them money.

How do l stop this? Do l answer the next unknown number to see if it stops?

I am annoyed as l am in TPS register already. I am annoyed that someone has done this to me who knows me as they must have my number to register me for this. l am concerned that someone has paid to annoy me, do you think that’s over thinking?

I am just getting over a spell of anxiety and trying to reign it in a bit before my anxiety kicks off again. I am 43 by the way and some childish oaf has done this.

Are you on Facebook or have friends on Facebook? If so your number can have been sold by Facebook

I use a fake name on Facebook and got prank and spam calls in my fake name

Thing is if you use the app or friends use the app Facebook just takes the details of all your contacts and sells them

lvykaty44 I have my phone number on Facebook set to only l can see it, my privacy is set high as well, l barley use it l did just check after l read your post. I last updated my status in June 2017. I think l might as well delete it.

It doesn’t matter what privacy you have - Facebook have your number and have sold it, even if you have the app on your phone it takes those numbers and sells them - they really don’t give a shit

That’s one reason I use a fake name on Facebook and a one-off email. Don’t ever put your real name on Facebook
