Instagram influencers

We've just been on holiday with another family. Their son brought his 18 year old girlfriend who is a you tube blogger and instagram influencer -25 thousand followers.

I'm going to sound very old ( I'm 50) but I was amazed by the whole instagram world that exists!

The girlfriend spent the whole day changing outfits ,getting photographed ,uploading posts and replying to messages - it was exhausting and I was only watching from afar!

She was lovely ,looked fabulous but it has opened my eyes to the terrifying world our children are growing up in.

Sorry I do sound really old...!!

I refuse to 'feel old' because other people behave in really odd ways.

We once went on a boat trip to a lovely island and I was totally baffled by a young woman who spent 90% of the trip talking to her phone in a 'piece to camera' fashion and I doubt she saw anything of the island, wildlife etc. Really really strange thing to do.

With 25k followers, I don't know if that would make her any money. From what I've heard about influencers, 99.9% will make fuck all and a tiny minority will actually make a living out of their 'work'.
