Colonoscopy - urgent prep question, any gastro bods about?

Can anyone help? Am having colonoscopy tomorrow (mainland Europe not UK). I had senna this afternoon, then a litre of Ximipeg - main ingredient is Macrogol if that helps. Am now ahem all clear.

I have to take another litre before the examination tomorrow, and the clinic were due to call this evening to tell me what time to take the second dose, and the time of my slot. No call (think they may have got my number wrong maybe). I really don't want to miss this, so am thinking of taking the second dose in the early hours. Then we can ring the clinic first thing and I'll be shiny clean and ready to go over there for whatever time. It's under GA which is another reason I really don't want to cancel.

Would it be ok to take it at say 1.00 am ? Slots are between 7.30 am and 12.30, so am thinking taking it then would make sure we're ready to travel to the clinic for any times. TIA.

For a recent colonoscopy I was told to take preparations between 3 and 7 in the evening. I'm guessing so that I wasn't on the toilet all night. And then final prep at 6 in the morning and then to drink another litre of water before the appointment. My appointment was at 10am

Hi, a few years ago I worked in a gi unit. I would take it earlier than one am , then you get a chance of some sleep. It’s not like you will be able to fill up again ss presumably you are on clear fluids only?
Hope it goes well tomorrow.

Thank you both so much. Yes I am on clear fluids only until 2hrs before anaesthetic (except I don't know what time that is of course!). So it looks as if I could take it at midnight tonight or at 6 am. Any thoughts on which would be better? It's an hour to the clinic so prepping overnight has its attractions in terms of avoiding roadside stops Grin

A little bump, am leaning towards tonight just because of the journey time. Thank you.
