Does this sound normal?

My son has just told me that he's not allowed to collect his GCSE results on Thursday. He was banned from going to his leavers party at school at prom for having too many behaviour points. He's just told me now that on the last day of term the told him he's not allowed to collect them from school and they will be sent in the post? Is it me or does that sound a bit harsh?

Well it sounds a bit suspect to be honest. Are you sure he's being completely truthful?

It sounds plausible and I don't think it sounds harsh. It's a good lesson that there are consequences to your actions.
However, I would double check with school that this is indeed the case. He might not want to collect them himself for fear of bad results and prefer pending them at home.

Contact school and ask if you can collect them. If he's just trying to get out of you seeing he'll change his tune.

No it's nothing to do with him not wanting me to see the results. He knows he's failed most, it's just the fact that he's not allowed to go grab them.

Its school premises so I suppose they can dictate who they admit. As others say, double check. Shame if it is the case but it doesn't sound like he will be that bothered.
