Rash on head

7 weeks ago I went to the doctors with a rash on my neck and head, the doctor said it was shingles and so I was put on a course of anti virals. My head pain has never really gone and today I asked my oh to take a pic and the rash is still there and my head is burning! Does this look like shingles rash to you? I’m not convinced it ever was shingles but have no clue what else it could be! Would the rash still be there after seven weeks? Sorry picture isn’t very clear it’s just below my hair line.

Have you had your hair done recently?

I had some problems with me scalp; more like small spots than a rash, but quite sore. The doctor couldn’t shed any light on it, and didn’t seem much fussed, but because it was a small patch and only intermittent, I didn’t pursue it.

What helped for me was to find the right shampoo. I use T-Gel and a generic conditioner with tea tree, and my scalp is generally calm almost all the time. Definitely avoid anything heavily perfumed.

Sorry this is not much help, but if it doesn’t ease off, I’d suggest you go back to the doctor and ask for a referral to a dermatologist.
