Tell me about having a third child after a 4-5 year gap

We are very fortunate to have two beautiful children, now aged 3 & 6. They are the lights of our lives, and we only ever planned to have two. Ever the younger was born, though, we have both thought a lot about the possibility of having a third, and now we sort of feel that it’s now or never.

We get that three will cost more, make restaurant bookings difficult, holiday packages harder, and limit our choice of cars. ATM, though, we anticipate many years of camping holidays, we currently have a big enough car etc.

My question, therefore, is that if you have a third with similar age gaps, how has it worked for you, and how has it affected your other children?

I have three DD9,DD6 & DS2. I always yearned for a third and sooo glad I did it, DS is far more advanced than the other two where at his age he's part of the gang and happy to get dragged to what ever the older l Eg doing eg swimming lessons etc. He's a delight with a cheeky push my buttons edge! DD 6 adores him and they get on really well DD is very helpful with him but less interested in him but that the 7 year age gap.
I'm a single mum to it's hard but I wouldn't have it anyway. I want a busy full house when there all older they are my world.
Going to the cinema and parties can be tricky but I have an amazing mum who always helps me out. He's just done his first trip to the cinema ( toy story 4) and loved it so that's now something we can all do. We do a lot outside parks walks etc and he walks further without moaning than the two oldest!
Do it!!
