Thought a positive thread might be nice.

For me.
Tomorrow: Taking a couple of hours off to run some errands. Will treat myself to cheap cleaning stuff from Savers and a cake from Cooplands

Saturday: No work, wine and pizza on the sofa with DP

Next week: More renovations so things really feel like they're coming together

Whole fortnight: Being on a diet which works well for me so I feel like I'm in control and losing weight at the rate, and in the way, I want to

A long weekend with friends I’ve not seen for ages. Fizz, hot tub, good food, chat and relaxation - and no kids. I literally cannot wait.

2 weeks annual leave starting on bank hol Mon. Haven't had a proper break since Christmas. Not going away, just planning days out and lots of walks and a good rest. Looking forward to spending time with DP.

This is such a lovely post!
On friday i'm taking the day off work to take my 2 DDS out for lunch before they go back to their dads in the evening. Cleaning and tidying up my flat when they've gone, a bit of peace and quiet is always great too!
I'm looking forward to getting out on very early sat morning for my first long training run for my next marathon, i love the route planning and knowing i have that head time space, just for me.
I'll be spending the rest of sat and sunday on the beach as its due to be hot. I love knowing that the structure of back to school is just around the corner but not quite!

Another fun (but probably exhausting!) day at the Edinburgh Fringe with DD and her DP, to celebrate her birthday. Two shows plus dinner. Both DDs live in Edinburgh, so I make the 100 mile round trip quite a lot. Always love the buzz, but glad to get home to my sleepy village too!

ilovebagpuss · 20/08/2019 13:19

Hopefully changing work hours to less hours so can pick up children from school meaning less stress
Starting the loft conversion

Two week road trip around wales with my little GS while his Mummy is at work

lilmishap · 20/08/2019 13:43

Taking the boys to Belfast on a plane (our first ever flight!) for a day trip to see Titanic experience, It will be stressful as hell, it's cost me a small fortune in trains and a night in a London hotel but 6 yr old is obsessed with the Titanic Olympic and Britannic and his face when I told him about it was worth the expense

I'm stupidly excited about going on a plane.

dunkinhobnobs · 20/08/2019 21:38

My 40th birthday and party.

Crunchymum · 20/08/2019 21:54

Family wedding in a few weeks (looking forward to it being done and dusted more than the actual event Shock)

Kids going back to school. They fare better with with routine of school (me too.....I can't believe I manage to get everyone out the door for 8.30am in term time.. my 6yo is still asleep at that time most days!). I like being up, ready, out the door and good to go for the day.

I'm going to have a serious crack at getting healthy when the older kids return to school. I mean a serious crack!!

Be1atrix · 22/08/2019 15:12

OP, enjoy your cake and well done for sticking at a diet!

I'm off to an airbnb on the coast with DW. First time alone together in absolutely bloody ages and I can't wait- we're taking board games! Not everyone's idea of fun but my version of heaven... the apartment is literally on the sea front

kenandbarbie · 22/08/2019 15:14

Older kids going back to school so I can have a bit of a break, also catching up with my parent friends at the school gates, and doing homework with them again.
Having my nails done.
