Ok, so I am new on here 😁. I am so angry!!! I really enjoy baking when I have time between cleaning washing working and looking after twins plus one. Don’t want to blow my own trumpet but I don’t think I am bad at it!! Friends love it and kids etc. He knows I have made an effort but doesn’t eat it. Eats sweets and cookies from shop. Really hurts my feelings. I don’t say anything just sit there feeling well hurt. It’s just rude!!! Am I being out of order?!!

To be fair I love baking
My friends, partner, kids and everyone at work love my cakes biscuits and brownies
I hate it all
I’ll eat shop bought cookies and that’s about it
I’d just leave it-all the more for you!

Is your husband your son?! In which case I think you have bigger issues than him not liking your cake.....

You're lucky it's only your baking he won't eat. My DH won't eat anything at all that I cook!
I'm a good cook and often get asked to cater church lunches, funerals etc and my kids friends all love coming here to eat because they get "proper food". But dh won't touch it. He won't even eat things like beans on toast if I make it. He lives on ready meals, premade sandwiches, oven chips and wraps, none of which I am allowed to touch.

I get it! DH often refuses my baking then later goes and gets something from the biscuit tin. I think he genuinely thinks “I’ll be good and won’t have all that sugar” then later gets the munchies and picks the easy option. Or says no for a couple of days, even though I tell him it’s best eaten in first couple of days then three days later complains it’s all gone. Really annoys me, but even more so if he doesn’t eat what the kids bake (and they are 12 and 14 so it’s actually nice and made hygienically!)

Workinghardeveryday · 20/08/2019 13:41

Sounds like him!!! Why can’t they just think!!! Men. Can you imagine seriously if it was the other way around. The twins helped yesterday baking, they are 8 now so followed all instructions very well and were really proud of it all, and like you say all hygienic etc (bit ocd with having clean house) but he just says he forgot it was there. Even had a go at me for being hurt he didn’t eat it wtaf!!! As if you would!!! I am not cooking tonight 😁. It can be a freezer tea for once, and he’s getting fish and he hates it 🙌🏻😂

Lots of people aren't keen on eating things that small children have had a hand in baking.- it could just be as simple as that.

Workinghardeveryday · 20/08/2019 13:53

You might think but he isn’t the type to be bothered!! He used to beg me to bake a few years ago. These days I just don’t have time with housework and work etc. So when I do and he doesn’t bother 🤬🙈

I don’t like home baking, it’s never as good as people say it is and when small children have a hand in making it then I definitely steer well away

Also MN has loads of threads about MILs trying to force food on them they don’t want and it’s always a huge YANBU. This is just it from the other side
