A&E or no?

I've had pain in my left calf (and occasionally thigh) for about a week now, and my lower leg looks ever so slightly swollen. Pain is worse after exercise but still there even when still. It's been quite bad today.

It's very difficult to get a GP appointment here so would it be sensible to go to urgent care/A&E tomorrow morning? I don't want to waste anyone's time but am worried that it could be something serious. TIA.

Ring your GP surgery in the morning and explain that you are worried you may have a blood clot. You need a scan, which an out of hours GP won't arrange tonight or A & E.

call 111 far better for you and them to see an OOH GP

@FenellaMaxwell I’m in the position to use the landline or one of 4 mobile phones in the house, op doesn’t sound like she has the option. At nearly 40, and immune suppressed so the odd call to 111 has been needed I’ve not heard of the app but hopefully your comment will be seen by others who may benefit from it in the future.

Op, I hope you manage to be seen today.

It doesn’t sound like a blood clot to me. SIL had one last year and her leg ballooned, was red and hot and she was in absolute agony with it. OP sounds like a muscle strain or similar to me.

NoSauce they present in slightly different ways. My GP wasn't sure and sent me to the hospital just in case.

Definitely don't need all symptoms for it to be a dvt. Dp had quite a bad one in his groin and didn't have any redness or burning and the swelling he had was marginal really in that it wasn't visible only knew when actually measured
