He chews Nicorette gum - can lengthy kisses cause nicotine exposure to me?

He chews Nicorette gum - can lengthy kisses cause nicotine exposure to me?

He is a smoker trying to quit. I've never smoked and would never smoke and have asthma. He is constantly chewing pieces of Nicorette gum whilst with me, to try and quit smoking. It's an awful chemical taste whenever he kisses me (which I've told him but he says that I'd prefer that over cigarette breath which is true). Just worried I might get exposed to nicotine - not from one kisses but lengthy snogs, make-outs etc.

If so, how could it affect me?

& has anyone quit smoking completely via nicorette gum? I've suggested e-cigs to him but he doesn't seem keen.

If it has nicotine in it then yes I’d imagine that would explain the rotten taste. I couldn’t do it, yuck

Nicotine is not particularly dangerous- which is why E-cigs are much better than fags.

It's highly addictive and very bad for unborn kids but as long as you don't snog for more than 4 hours a day in total, and make him start removing the gum before you snog, you should be fine.

Grin where did you magic up that number from

Didn't you read that 2009 study in the Lancet into rates of diffusion through saliva during french kissing? I thought the researcher's dedication to Science was admirable.

don 😂
Honestly the fella is trying to give up smoking if you don’t like kissing him after he chews nicotine gum then cut him loose lettucebefree
FYI vaping and Ecigs are being questioned now as not being a “healthy” alternative to smoking

LemonPrism · 20/08/2019 02:32

@OkPedro they're still better than smoking. I've used a Juul for the last three months and have had 1 cigarette compared to 10 a day.

Cigarettes make me vomit now. We may not know the full effects but they are wonderful help for those of us struggling with the insane cigarette addiction.

Your sneering helps no one
