Renewing AAT membership

Hello
Does anyone know what happens if you don't renew your membership before it runs out? It says I will lose the letters after my name. Do I get them back if I renew in the future?

Just to add I'm not currently practicing but recently qualified with level 3. No plans to practice til at least next year.

You'd have to ask them, but unless you formally revoke your membership and also fail to keep up your CPD obligations possibly not.

You should contact them and explain rather than just failing to pay and hoping for the best.

Are you keeping up with CPD if you plan to practice again? Some bodies have a reduced rate for members not currently practicing.

Your membership will still lapse though if you don't pay.

It occurs to me you might get charged a reinstatement fee of some description if that happens.

Ask them about the future. Yes youll have to drop using them. If its funds find out if they do cheaper options which you qualify for or if your employer will pay.

If you still do stop, I think you are mad! Its what youve worked so hard for.

I think that you can’t use the letters when your membership isn’t active but you can renew very easily - their customer services are really helpful, you should call to clarify.
