What film on Netflix/Amazon Prime?

So DH is away next weekend and I'm planning a quiet Saturday night with a takeaway, a couple of gins and a film via the Firestick, but not sure what to watch. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

I'm probably in the mood for something light, so comedy and chickflick fine but definitely no gore/horror/anything too sad. I recently watched Murder Mystery which was fantastic but older films would be good too.

Thanks in advance!

Just watched In Bruges. It was really amusing, I loved it. (There is some violence in it

I now want to go to Bruges

If you want the bejeesus scared out of you... Bird Box.

I just watched 'Red Sea Diving Resort' on Netflix. Based on the true story about how they smuggled Ethiopian Jew refugees out the country by using a hotel as cover.
Its quite long (2hours) but I found it very interesting, plus has Chris Evans...

I enjoyed A Simple Favour. It’s gripping and also has funny moments.

A Simple Favour.

I don't know if I want Blake Lively's wardrobe or hand in marriage.

Both I think.

Thank you everyone, I'll have a look at those ones you suggested. Any more recommendations?

Always be my maybe? (Netflix)
Also enjoyed Dumplin, Red Sea Diving good but maybe a bit challenging feelings wise - depends what you feel like!

Horehound · 19/08/2019 19:38

"The house" is good and funny/entertaining. I just watched it 2 nights ago. Never heard of it before.
That's on prime

Happyelfjokeday · 19/08/2019 19:46

Otherhood also fun!

Towerofjoyless · 19/08/2019 19:49

Thanks Happyelf, I will maybe give Red Sea Diving a go another time, am needing pure brain fluff atm!

Another vote for Dumplin, The Blind Side is worth a watch too.

Dominoz · 19/08/2019 20:06

I second Blind Side. Watched it last night. Is great. Our Sky box is broken at the min so we're currently working our way through the critically acclaimed section on Netflix.

Horehound · 19/08/2019 20:10

Otherhood also fun!

Noooo, it's shit!

hidinginthenightgarden · 19/08/2019 20:22

Murder mystery with Jennifer Aniston is good.

When Harry Met Sally

It has aged really well. I hadn't seen it since the early 90's. Was joyous escapism.
