Ryanair cabin bags

We are travelling with Ryanair and have booked tickets with 'small cabin bags' only.
Will I get away with a small handbag (for passports, phone, wallet etc) on my shoulder too?
I've heard they're pretty strict at check in with a very low threshold for the £25 fine.
We're flying out of Manchester if that makes a difference

Maybe, maybe not, not allowed according to the terms and conditions, but they aren't always that strict.

but you are allowed a shopping bag from duty free so you could buy a bottle of water, get a plastic bag and put your handbag and/or documents in that. I find the sports bottles of water sold in duty free at the airport useful for taking to the beach etc anyway so if I get one I will reuse it all week.

I've flown with them a few times and have had a handbag as well as hand luggage.

As long as, in theory, you have enough space in your other carry on bag to slip your handbag in then you’ll be fine. Generally, no one bothers but occasionally you get someone who is a stickler for the rules.
Having said that, you should’ve seen some of the MASSIVE bags being taken on as carry on when we flew with them in July!

What about a bumbag?! No, seriously. They're really 'in' at the moment, and enormously practical. I got my daughter a gorgeous Guess one for £14.99 from TKMax, and it's never checked on flights.

Thanks for replies.
No one even seemed to look / inspect bag size!
