Berlin - transport and tips

We are off to Berlin next week with two ds in late teens . Am so confused as to whether we should get a Welcome Berlin card , or travel cards etc any tips would be welcome .

We used the underground mostly, but be aware it can be confusing! The same stations appear on two different lines, but is actually two different stations, often across the street from one another, with the same name but different destinations! Took me a day or two to understand this! Once I did it was easier, but still a bit of a pain! I think we just bought tickets as we went, but we were only there for a weekend.

There are bus lines that travel along every "touristy point" and you can get off the bus and get the next one.

We got a 5 day travel card which DH lost on the first night so stayed local the next day then bought a 3 day travel card
