What is wrong with my nail? Picture attached

I can't remember injuring my ring finger. Could it be a fungal nail infection?

How long have you had it? Is it growing out as the nail grows?

I think as you can’t remember injuring your nail / nail bed I would see your GP ASAP to rule out melanoma.

And yes to GP.

Looking at your other nails it might be nail psoriasis which can make nails susceptible to a fungal infection

Does it hurt like you've pulled the quick up?

Sorry for delay in reply. Got called off to do a job! Nail doesn't hurt. The daft thing is I can't remember how long it has been black. I've been ignoring it. Possibly a month or so. I need to book to see a GP don't I?

Yes.
Hopefully it’s nothing. Family member had a nail melanoma scare last year which has made me very aware of nails !
