Hey everyone, I’m new to this site and just looking a bit of support. I’m 42 and have discovered I’m pregnant with number 4. I’m a bit worried about my age and it’s keeping me up at night! Anyone else in a similar situation?

I had my second at 43. Do you mean you’re worried about potential problems with the baby or how you’ll handle having a baby and three other kids? You can’t do anything about the former - my husband and I decided if the nuchal fold was normal we wouldn’t do any more tests. But you need to discuss this with your partner, and what to do if there are any abnormalities.
If the latter It depends on how involved your partner is with childcare and ages of your other kids I guess. I had both kids in my 40s and a couple teen stepsons, one of which lived with us. It was fine. For me it was giving up work and being a stay at home parent that I found hard to adjust to!

I think I’ve just been taken a bit by surprise (stupid I know) by the positive result. This wee baby was unplanned but will be very loved. Husband is quite happy with the news. I had two mms before our youngest and this is playing in my mind a bit. I think it’s probably shock and lack of sleep is making it worse .

I had mine at 38 and 41 and it was fine, but I don't have experience of anything different.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! I had number 3 at age 42. All went swimmingly (I even had a wonderful home birth after 2 not very pleasant hospital births with the first two). I was so much calmer, relaxed for the third. Being an older mother suited me.

Not been in this position myself but my mum had my sister at 42 and me at 45 naturally. Both pregnancies fine! Wishing you well Smile

Thank you, hopefully be easier when the shock subsides!
