Anyone help with Manchester info?

This is a bit pathetic but I've tried Google and I'm still not sure what I'm doing [bush].

Planning a trip tomorrow and want to use P & R but can't work it out. Is it straightforward? Will be travelling from Notts and visiting
People's Museum primarily, and then preferably some sort of park.

Do I just park at Metrolink and get on any tram, or are there different lines?
