Sorting out or furniture first?

We have just moved to a larger property and are trying to decide what we should do first: sort our belongings or buy furniture in which to store them? What would you do?

Buy the furniture after you've sorted your belongings out and know what you'll need.

Sort first, but have an idea of what you want and where.

Thanks. There isn't a huge amount but perhaps we need to decide what needs to go where.
