What things baffle you?

  • How the stock markets work: surely Apple (for example) isn't just listed on the Dow Jones but also on other stock exchanges? How does it work when the share price falls in let's Frankfurt? What happens to the shares on other stock exchanges?
  • How tiny plastic parts are made: surely there can't be a different machine for each minute part? But then how are they made?
  • How to get a job/ career that is not a vocation. I seriously think I'm "not seeing" something or am too rigid in my thinking.

Any mention of Brexit is BANNED from this thread Grin WTF is the backstop though??

I'm also baffled by camping.

What is there that is so great about a holiday where you even have to build your own accommodation and cook meals outside in the drizzling rain?

I just don't get it at all. We've tried it. Never again.

I'm baffled by people for whom everything is a drama. Constantly falling out with people, constantly feeling slighted, everything being a far bigger deal than it needs to be. What do they think they gain from it? It looks like an exhausting way to live.

People dropping litter. Can only assume they like living in a litter-strewn environment.

Why marker pen eyebrows are a thing.

The way some people are about public toilets. You'd think they'd been asked to enter a nuclear fallout zone, the lengths they go to avoid using them in the first place or touching anything in there if they do have to go.

Apart from the obvious nasties like festival toilets, it's simply never occurred to me that there's any issue at all with toilets in shopping centres, restaurants or service stations. They're cleaned multiple times a day and seem quite clean in my experience.

How musical conductors conduct. What does all the arm waving mean ?
People who like liquish allsorts

fuckwitseverywhere · 16/08/2019 12:15

It's important for all players to keep time, the conductor is beating the rhythm so no one goes too fast or slow. They also indicate to people when to come in, or if they are too loud or quiet
