Got to say I love a 2p machine. But say you're walking past one and it drops a load- do you
A) shamelessly grab them
B) look around slightly embarrassed and then snaffle them
C) leave them for the next person

After a lifetime of wet uk holidays and many happy hours watching my dcs play on 2p machines when the fun steps, stop etc I can tell you that they spurt out coins randomly if no ones played on them for a while, to entice young gamblers into 'just' putting them in. The sound of change dropping is very alluring. The sophisticated ones have a vault of coins - they don't drop, like when you play.

Has anyone noticed how much faster they go in and out these days compared to when we were kids?

Definitely B

B, but the looking around would not be embarrassment, but checking whether anyone is watching or making a move for them.

There again, I have done a C for coins on the ground, but that is mostly because I worry about the germs (why I feel that for coins on the ground and not for notes or for coins in the 2p machine I don't know).

B!
(This thread has just made me remember a dream I had last night that I was going past loads of 2p machines and they were spewing money out into the trays and they weren't 2ps, but 2 pound coins!
I was taking them all lol then had to wake up and it wasn't real, and I was still skint, gah
So seeing this thread is slightly freaky Grin

A but put them straight back in again to try to win more coins or tickets

SirJamesTalbot · 15/08/2019 18:03

A. I'd probably end up feeding them back into a different machine though.
