Overnight on National Express

I have to go to Scotland in a few weeks. Don't want to drive all that way myself and the train is very expensive. The coach cost is ok but it will leave Birmingham at 8 and arrive in Glasgow at 6.30 in morning. Obviously the idea would be to sleep. Just over thinking it really! Do people sleep? Is it safe? Does it stop? Would you do it?

It’s fine but you do get annoying people who don’t want to sleep. Also check yours is direct.
I go ne often, but all overnight ones to the same destination I take during the day, have two stops.
The most dodgy thing about coach travel is the station before your journey. They can be quite intimidating in some cities!

I recently did London to Glasgow overnight and I will never do it again. The coach was chilly so I put my jacket over me, then about an hour later I woke up so hot I was almost sick. We also stopped every couple of hours through the night, including at a service station for 40 minutes where everybody else trudged on and off the bus with stinking burgers and chips at 1am Angry

Finally at Carlisle I gave up trying to sleep.

You might be able to sleep... I can't sleep on any type of vehicle so tend to read or use my iPad etc, but some people sleep.

I've got a NE from Birmingham, although not all the way to Scotland. It stopped a fair few times and most times people would bring masses of fast food on, which ruined my diet as my willpower crumbled Grin

When I was younger I did a overnight national express, and as a 19 year old female by herself I felt perfectly safe.

I took a blanket, headphones and a book and sat away from anybody else; no-one bothered me or even spoke to me so it was fine Smile
