Anyone up to anything much today?

I've been up since 7; there are gas works on our street & yesterday they posted a leaflet through the door saying someone would knock to check boilers were off & disconnect the gas. So far, no-one has knocked, so I could have got up a bit later .

My towels are blowing away on the line atm, and I have cleaned the downstairs loo. Dd2's just come down for some toast.

I'm a bit bored, so will probably clean the upstairs bathroom too shortly.

Anyone up to anything more exciting? :)

Nothing more exciting, sorry! I'm in bed, have some sort of stomach bug. I have night nurse in so contemplating taking that.

It's a pain waiting for people to turn up to do works

I have the day off. Done two loads of washing which is all on the line, been and had my car washed and now having a cuppa.
My Mum is dropping in later so might have a quick tidy, then later taking DS2 out for driving practice so maybe after that!

I’m on a mini break with the dc so they are off playing with dh at the park and I’m waiting to have a reflexology treatment...🙌

I decided to clean out the kitchen cutlery drawer which has now resulted in pulling all the cupboards and drawers out and cleaning them all ! Why did I start this

@millmoo I find that's how I usually end up cleaning & clearing out cupboards too! "I'll just do this..." leads to everything out and me scrubbing away

I don't know whether to switch my boiler back on and wash the pots, there are no workmen about anywhere on the street

Bathroom's almost done - I've even chucked the shower curtain and dd2's few bath toys in the washer.

It's still quite early in the day too...I wonder what I'll do next

(The girls are playing Minecraft together btw, I haven't abandoned them to MN and clean!).

Not really much more exciting here either, currently cuddled on the sofa with Bobthedog with my second load of washing going while waiting for DC to wake up for his half 12 feed, it took nearly an hour and a half to get him off after his 9am one so might just leave him to wake up rather than wake him.

MIL is picking us up at 4 to go over to theirs and drop Bobthedog off for his 5pm groom, dp is going there from work and we're staying at the inlaws for dinner tonight.

I've let DD drag me to soft play and I'm sitting listening to what I'm sure is a competition between kids of who can screech the loudest

@NightOwl101 I do not envy you being at soft play one little bit! Neither of my dd's were ever that fussed about going thankfully so we've only ever been a handful of times.

The shower curtain's just spinning now, so that can go back when I've drunk my cup of coffee. I don't know what else to do...

I'm so bored today.

Baby up at 6, bottle, breakfast, play, sleep, bottle, play, lunch and now sleep. I can't really be bothered to go anywhere but being inside is annoying me. I feel like having a nap but I feel guilty too🤷🏻‍♀️😕

Trying to pack to go on holiday tomorrow, trying to work out what we will need for the weather in Wales next week and trying to avoid packing everything just in case we need it! Have done some washing and ironing and a bit of tidying and watched some tv programmes I recorded about 18 months ago.

Nursery run this morning and work just now although I'm hoping to finish sharpish.

Well, I've mooched about allllll day waiting in-case someone needed to get in to switch off the gas & someone's just knocked to say they've been waiting about for a part allllll day & it'll more than likely be Monday now.

So I can wash the breakfast and lunch pots that have been staring at me all day (sad, I know, but the kitchen will look soooo much neater once they're away!)

I went to school for a couple of hours this morning to assist exams team with handing out A level results and this afternoon I've been making a cake. It's a galaxy themed cake, so swirly purples and blues, with planets of different colours on the inside. Well, that's the plan. It's cooling at the moment, before I start slicing and filling! It may be a disaster and have to start all over again.

I forgot I needed to do some washing, which was quite important, because I've run out of half decent knickers!. Hey ho, I just won't get dressed tomorrow!

Oooh @MaureenMLove I've seen cakes like that on Pinterest. It sounds very fancy! Fingers crossed it works out well...you'll have to pop up a photo if it does.

I have sorted some washing for the morning, not long ago, I think the neighbours must have dropped theirs round too there's that much of it

I think I might be taking on too much, but you know me of old, I am a reasonably competent cake maker and decorator, so you never know! I'll slice it later and pop on a picture. The decorating is tomorrow.

I've started making the rocket for the top, which is made of rice crispy bars. I'm not gonna lie, it looks like a penis at the moment!. Hopefully icing and decoration will change that!

It's for a colleagues son, for his birthday.

I was up most of the night, DC4 (7mo) and I have had some kind of horrible bug, so we both had high temperatures, the shivers and sweats...it was bloody horrible!

So, I spent the morning in a daze on the sofa while giving the older three DC free rein on the screens. I then put on my big girl pants, did the shopping, washing up and laundry, cooked cauliflower mac and cheese for our tea. I am now having a glass of wine before dinner while DC4 has a nap.

DP will be home from work at about 7.30, half of the DC will then be in bed. We will have a whiskey and he can look after me for the evening!

Not a very exciting day, but we have fun plans for tomorrow that I want to be recovered for!

@lucysmam - better late than never! The internal is just swirls of different colours. The planets inside was a step too far, but I'm sure the birds in the garden enjoyed it! I planned to put a hole through the middle and fill it with m&m's, but I bloody forgot, despite having the cutter and sweets right next to me when I was icing! Gah!

@MaureenMLove it looks ace! Well done indeed. Never mind about the sweets in the middle you'll have to eat them instead . I've done a yellow cake with a bat signal running through it before but it was quite easy to line that up, I imagine planets would be more of a challenge!

I've had poss most boring day ever. I'm usually a busy type but pils are staying and they do very little - with 2 young DC it's hard to not go out but don't want to be rude - plus it was raining... they are very nice but for some reason have to comment on everything I do/say and ignore my parenting choices... then we made cake for DS2 party tomorrow - MIL, well meaning but interfering and commenting... then DH gets home and sits watching TV! So, no, not up to much but still feel tired and irritated. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
