Why does my husband have to be so loud?!

My husband always has to have some kind of noise on the go!!
At the minute he has music blaring which happen to be the most thumpiest songs in the world, and he's screeching along to them. Paired with next door getting new slabs put down, I'm about to go mad. (Yes I've already asked him to turn it down).

He's always got to have the TV or music or be talking. He can't even read a book without having music on! How? Just read 😭

Clearly he can't be alone with his own thoughts! 😂

DH used to work on the gateline on the tube...crowd control etc.
He has absolutely no idea how booming his voice can be sometimes, it's like being married to Brian Blessed.

DS 3 has also inhereted the booming voice.

Brian Blessed is in Peppa Pig. You learn something new everyday. Misses the point of the thread

Because he's a man? I live in an all female household and we really notice how loud most men are when they visit

RosaWaiting · 15/08/2019 21:07

I would lose my mind at this.

iklboo · 15/08/2019 21:09

DH is the same. Watches videos on his phone with the music so loud you could hear it in space. Same with the radio. And I'm the one with hearing loss.

My husband always has the tv on loud and then will sit watching videos on his phone with the sound on. He also has headphones in when we go to bed and I quite often listen to a podcast too - I can often hear his over mine when I have headphones in!! Granted I usually only have one in but I have to lay on the vacant ear so I don’t hear his.

He often makes silly noises when ds has not long gone to bed.

I love him to death but dear lord I wish he’d just pipe down sometimes!!

PlatinumBrunette · 15/08/2019 21:51

Mine isn't loud, as such, but he has to make a noise all. the. time.

He huffs, puffs, sighs, groans, mutters, farts, moans, and then starts over. It's like my attention has to be continually on him at all times.
He doesn't huff, puff, sigh etc if I'm not in the room Hmm as I've listened.

My dh is also very loud. He comes in from work and turns the Tv up so loud I can hear every word from the kitchen on the other side of the house Hmm I gradually turn it down when he’s nips to the toilet and he doesn’t even notice... or maybe he thinks he’s going deaf Grin who knows.

CakeNinja · 15/08/2019 22:09

Dp is also incredibly loud! Everyone here has my sympathy Grin
He’s going slightly dead due to his job I think, he knows he’s definitely not as easy of hearing as he once was but his voice has always been several THOUSAND decibels above anyone else’s.
He was on the phone earlier. I was 2 whole floors above him and could hear every word he said.
As could our neighbours I’m sure.
He has the telly and the music on much louder than I would have it, I’m constantly telling him to quieten it down.
I’m off on school holidays at the moment and he’s like an elephant thumping and crashing about in the bedroom getting dressed before coming over to me to give me a goodbye kiss, whispering goodbye in a shouty whisper even though I’m always trying to ignore him. He then pulls the door to behind him and because we have windows open the wind ends up slamming the door shut behind him.
I often think murderous thoughts!
