VERY boring thread about carpets and towels

We moved into a house with a cream carpet in the bedroom. We have dark blue towels with a matching bath mat in the ensuite. The cream carpet has lots of bits of blue fluff, which I assume is caused by wet feet trending on the bath mat and then into the bedroom. The fluff isn't coming off when I vacuum. I have also tried a carpet cleaner foam, but that also doesn't get rid of the blue. Any bright ideas?

I DID warn you that it was very boring!

😂😂 You were not lying about it being boring for sure 😂
Could be not the best quality mat if bits are coming off.. That's what usually happens with my cheaper towels.. After drying off there's bits of the towel (fluff) on the floor. I mean you could try lint roller or just get new bath mat..

Lint roller

Rubber brushes always get recommended for getting pet hair of carpets so might work for the fluff.

Parcel tape? Throw the bath mats away though. You can’t be parcel taping your carpets every day.

Some great ideas, thank you, but I suspect you're right that I need to get rid of the bath mat. I thought I'd be OK buying from M&S - but clearly not! Sad

Similar to rubber brush, I just wear a pair of rubber flip flops and drag my feet across the carpet - it pulls together all the bits of lint, fluff (from socks in our house) and hair that the vacuum cleaner doesn't get and you can just pick up and throw away. So satisfying.

Damp hands and rub, it forms balls. I hate those clingy type carpets. Ggggrrrr

Once you've got rid of the blue fluff (DH'S socks shed black fluff on my cream carpet, I was unimpressed, the vacuum didn't remove it, so I had to hand lift the lot 😡), get cream everything to match the carpet. I got some really lovely Calvin Klein towels from TK Maxx, absolute bargain.

Rubber gloves - put them on and rub them over the carpet to pick up the towel fluff. Also work a treat on removing cat hair from carpet, upholstery, curtain, cushion covers, bed linen.

Shower squigy thingy works for getting it off the carpet

Clean damp dishcloth to get fluff off carpets, that’s actually what I use most of the time to ‘hoover’ my stairs. Far more efficient at picking up lint and hair.

Managed to get the worst off using parcel tape. Will try some of the other options next. Thank you all Smile
