15 year old has been taken Priteze for months but it seems to have stopped working for him. He is on his knees with awful hayfever, can anyone recommend anything else I can get him please?

Fexofenadine tablets work for me, along with Rhinolast nasal spray. However, both are prescription only.
A simple over the counter spray like Vicks Sinex might help in the meantime.

Thanks, getting a GP appt is nigh on impossible so anything to help in the meantime. I've never had hayfever but god he's suffering this year more than usual, especially when it rains for some reason.

We were recently told by a GP that Cirtirizine is the best antihistamine as it can be taken with any other medication and doesn't have any harmful side-effects. She also told us that despite the packet saying only take once a day, you can in fact take it up to 4 times a day - but you would start off taking twice a day, see if symptoms improve etc. She did also prescribe a nasal spray.

They say local honey, made with in certain radius to your house. Obviously that's no good for this year but you could try that from late March/April next year. It's meant to build up a resistance to "local" pollen. I went in a bee keepers course a few years ago and they said it helps hay fever sufferers.
Sorry it's not helpful to your DS now I hope you find something to ease it.

Piriteze is cetirizine. Perhaps try a different antihistamine like loratidine? I use either/or and also find nasal sprays really effective.
