Results day tomorrow, and and for the first time I have a child who is not going to do well, and it genuinely doesn’t matter. I feel as if I’ve got loads of adrenaline I don’t know what to do with.....!

Go for a massive power walk followed by a nice lunch or glass of wine. Be smug that you realise exam results are not the be all and end all, and give your child a big hug, make sure they're comfortable with their results and have a follow up plan if required.

Oh, believe me- smug is not what I am! I am very aware that we/he are incredibly lucky and walking on eggshells for the luck to continue. Yes- we’ve planned lunch tomorrow.

Need more info ... why do you think they haven't done well and why are you walking on eggshells? Have they had bad health/mental health? Totally agree that there is far more to life than exam results. good luck to you all.

Yes- mental health issues hit hard over exams. But he has a part time course he’s been accepted on unconditionally next year, and has been picking up work he loves through an interest. The eggshells are about the work carrying on- it’s one week to the next, and it’s made a huge difference to his mental heath. Just worried (because I have to worry about something!) about the consequences of the work drying up.....
