Can 4 adults + 3 children comfortably fit in a Zafira?

This is long, sorry!!

Do any older style Zafira owners do regular journeys of 1.5 hours or more with four adults and three children?

We’re trying to plan a couple of journeys where two of the adults are over 6ft, one is 5ft 10”, one is 5ft and the three children, who will all be using various booster seats, are 110cm-ish, 125cm and the other almost 5ft.

We’ve reached the stage where the eldest’s legs are too long for sitting in the boot, he gets bad cramp on journeys over a hour. We had to stop the car at a service station and swap children and boosters around on our last escapade because he was crying from the pain (the journey time had unfortunately doubled due to a traffic accident).

The driver has his seat almost all the way back due to his long legs which means there’s no real leg room behind him. Up until recently we had the two youngest behind the driver and front passenger and the eldest in the boot.
The only decent space is behind the front passenger seat. Or the ‘middle seat’ of the middle row...
I’m not keen on putting the two youngest in the boot, but am thinking this and putting be the eldest and all adults in the other seats is the only way to fit everyone in the car comfortably and safely? Actually, is it safe??

Personally I think the Zafira is a bit cramped for that number of people. Is there going to be too much weight? Have you checked the specifications? What will the tyre pressure need to be?

The best car I ever had was a Ford Galaxy. Loads of room and removable seats. Would you be able to hire something similar/bigger than the Zafira?

I've done 4 adults and 2 children in our older Zafira many times for 1-2 hour journeys and it's perfectly comfortable. Bigger adults up front, smaller adults in the very back and 2 children in the middle. It would have been fine on those occasions to cram another car seat in the middle row!

The only people allowed in the back row of a Zafira are those under 150cm so children really or very short adults! The middle row is a bit tight with 3 car seats but manageable- fine with less of the bigger car seats.

Granted, it'd be more roomy in a Galaxy.

Oh that’s good news about the height restriction for the back row @astonvanilla.

@endofthelinefinally I am/was hesitant to bring weight in to it, but the only slim adult is the driver I am not slim so comfort is a must, but we wouldn’t be over the weight limit (just checked).
I’ve tried putting all three boosters in the middle row and you can’t close the door properly. Maybe when the youngest can move out of a highback booster it’ll work.

We’re doing the first journey soon so we’ll do the two tallest in the front, me, other adult and eldest (in booster) in the middle row - I’ll sit behind the driver - and two youngest in the back row. All extra stuff will go in the roof box.

It very much depends on whether the adults are overweight. You can definitely fit 4 slim adults in, there's plenty of leg space. If they're a bit bulky around the hips then I'd say no.

I’d say no. Short journeys might be ok but anything over about half an hour I think would be quite uncomfortable.
