Varicose vein removal

Anyone had this done privately? How do you go about it? Gap says not bad enough for NHS.

Had it done on one leg privately. I simply got an open referral from my GP and called insurance to get name of consultant. Once I saw him I had to have an ultrasound done on my legs and went to see consultant again, surgery was booked for 4 weeks later. Big improvement and am now saving up to have thread veins done as I'll need to fund that myself...
