Help - son’s boil has popped

Help please

My son was having a shower - he is 11.

He mentioned something on his leg near groin.

It’s a small hole in his leg.

I think it must have been a boil which has burst?!

He says that it has been sore in that area for a few days.

I’m a bit alarmed by the hole - it’s the size of a pin head I guess.

Will it heal on its own or should we get it checked out?

Area around it is not red at all so doesn’t look like there is infection.

It will definitely still be open tomorrow. There's no way it will heal up overnight

I would estimate it's 3 mm across (sorry for my confusing pin descriptions!).

Unless it looks loads better in the morning, I think tomorrow we might go to the drop in clinic and get it checked. On Monday we are going away for a week on holiday abroad and I would rather get it checked before we go.
