Renewing passports online.

Burlea · 13/08/2019 15:59

Our passports expire in February 2020. If doing online do I need new photos and someone to confirm they are photos of us. Or will are old photos do.
Our passports have a chip in.
If needing new photos where do I have them taken.
Thanks for your help.

I just did ours online, as renewals they didn't need a signature and I did the photos myself, they get verified online in the process, I just did headshots against a plain white door. You have to send your old ones back but it was all very easy and efficient

They accept electronic photos now, as a PP said you can do them yourself. I had some done for DD at a branch of Timpsons (yes, the key cutters!) but not all stores do it.

Same as PP, I got my OH to take them on his phone and you can upload them straight to the form online.

I just did this - dh did my photos against my living room wall.

Super easy and back in 2 weeks despite doing it in July

You upload a photo while doing an online application. If it is for a child under age 12 then it will need countersigned but its verified by email rather than writing anything on a physical photo
