I have a 3 day event coming up at Birmingham NEC. I'll be getting off the train at Birmingham international station, and according to everything i can see online and google maps, you can enter the NEC within a 5 minute walk. The issue is, i need to be at the other end at the main entrance which is a 30 minute walk throughhh the building to get there. Im wondering if there is any MNER'S who know the area that knows whether there is easier/quicker ways of getting to the main entrance at all? I could get an uber from the station but thats £9 each way, which is £58 i really dont want to be spending. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Which hall are you in?

GreenTulips · 13/08/2019 13:02

Do you know you can come off the train, turn right and walk to the halls? I can’t see it taking half an hour! I used to work near there and walk there and back plus eat lunch in much less time

There are free buses all day for most of the exhibits and a taxi service - normally I see this from the car park but can't see why you can't do hall to hall. It is massive.

I can't see it taking 30 mins either unless you walked round the outside.

It's not a short walk - its a massive building! But it won't take half an hour if you power through it. It might take 20/25 mins if you walk around it from outside, but you'll be able to go through.

You just walk straight through from the station, at worst it would only take me about 10 minutes, I have some mobility problems and it is really not that far.

Greyhound22 · 13/08/2019 13:52

Yeah it's a few minutes walk to the main entrance from the train.

crazylady7 · 13/08/2019 13:54

You can see the walkway and the main entrance on this pic - it’s a straight line
