Budget night away

We've had a really dull summer holiday so far and I'd really like to take my ds away just for one night somewhere on a little adventure. Hotels are so expensive though!

Can anyone recommend any groupon type sites for last minute deals? Or any ideas on how to do something cheaply? I had thought maybe a night away in a city. Or perhaps just a seaside b&b. Or perhaps even something like a zoo and stay over package. Any tips most welcome xx

Where are you based and do you have transport? That’ll make a difference- do you have or can you borrow camping essentials?

I don't drive so will have to involve a train journey I imagine - more expense. Unless dp can get some time off which isn't likely at short notice. I'm around the Leeds area.

Premier Inn's are usually really good and if your DS is under 16 they stay and eat(breakfast if your having it)for free.

We've used them lots of times now for city and seaside breaks and they've been brilliant.

Check out booking.com for Scarborough train fare shouldn't be huge and b&bs are usually reasonable
