Specific alternatives to Centre Parks

I've seen variations on this thread before; please forgive me for starting another.

I'm looking for an alternative to a Centre Parks break for next Aprilish. Midweek, outside of school holidays. We'll be 4 adults, a 4yo and a baby. I like the idea of comfy SC accommodation, and facilities nearby like a nice pool and child friendly stuff. But I'm not massively keen on paying the premium for the Centre Parks label, and we won't really be able to take advantage of lots of the extra activities they do, as we'll have such little kids with us. Also obvs it's restrictive being on site with regards to restaurants etc.

So I'm imagining an Air B&B near a good pool, or a family friendly hotel, or another option I've not thought of....? Any inspiration? Somewhere between Newcastle and London....?

Scarborough has an excellent indoor waterpark. Also Peasholme Park, beach, usualy seaside stuff, Dalby Forest not too far away.

For accomodation, obviously you can look on airbnb but I like the look of these apartments, but I think they are quite expensive.
