Boys on screens

I have a hoard of children here today including 3 boys aged 9,13 and 14 who all knock about together. At every opportunity they have they find a screen. I have just caught them playing games on their phones (with the 9 year-old watching) having told them they couldn't play on the console yet. I don't mind some screen time but they would literally play all day if they could and it's all they can think about - I've just been asked what time they can go on the Xbox for the second time. We are going swimming later but I can't entertain them all day (there are 9 of the blighters in total!).
How do you manage these situations and what alternative activities do your teens do?

Can you not ask them? I'd take them for a walk. Walk to the pool?

I have asked them and they say they've got nothing to do. I have suggested board games, building something (outside or inside with Lego etc.). They are currently on scooters outside but they are just "killing time" really.
We will walk to the pool but the session is not until this afternoon. I have suggested a walk into our (small) town but they're not interested.
I also have 3 six year olds and 3 11 year olds here too.
I just wondered what other teens did?

God and I thought I had it hard with a 7 month old who is so demanding...

Looks like it just gets harder and harder x

With that amount of kids, I would leave them on screens

A lot of kids that age just don't play outside anymore and some might be a bit old for board games etc. I refused to play board games between 11 and 18 as I thought I was far cooler than I was. Grin I would just put a movie on personally
