Hello- please can those of you with a smart meter talk to me about your electricity usage? I got one fitted yesterday and I woke up this morning to 78p on the meter! What the hell is costing that over night? I think I'm getting ripped off tariff wise as it's now £2.35. Help!!!

Mines currently £2.18 - that’s about normal.

78p overnight sounds about right.
You'll probably still have a fridge, freezer, maybe a light or two, radio alarm and tv smart box running during that time.

Oh thank heavens! My bills are terrible so I panicked there.

We used about £2.75 a day for a family of four x

We have smart meters, 4 bed house, family of 5 and we use around £3 a day. Little things like, chargers, fridges, lights and game consoles all add up. Sounds about normal.

I'm assuming that's electric or both? Obviously my central heating hasn't been fired up for an age...

surlycurly · 11/08/2019 17:27

Your welcome x

My standing charge is added as soon as it turns midnight on my smart meter so if you have a standing charge it will probably be that
