My husband and I have a 6 hour drive later this year and would like some audiobooks to listen to on our journey. We both enjoy most genres, nothing sad though!

TIA

Americanah by chimamanda ngozi adichi was the first audiobook I listened to and still one of the best I’ve ever listened to (great writer and the woman reading it is great too). Or any memoir read by the person who wrote it cos it sounds like they’re telling you their life story (I liked Carrie Fisher’s ones, Cat Marnell’s and Carrie Brownstein’s), hope that’s of some use!

I am listening to Outlander (book 1) Its over 40 hours long and I am well into it. Certainly have got my credits worth with this book! Love it.

Stephen Fry reading Sherlock Holmes is a really good use of an audible credit (70hours+).

I've been listening to Dickens recently and I liked the HG Wells collection too.

Most non-fiction I like read by the author.

Loved Bryan Cranston's reading of his autobiography.

Dervla McTiernan's "The Ruin" and "The Scholar" are great. Beautifully narrated too.

We love the BBC dramatisation of Jeeves and Worcester. Has to be BBC though with Michael Hordon and Richard Briers. Hilarious and fabulously entertaining.

The entire CD collection used to be £64 - get it all for 1 credit on audible! Bargain!
