Stale jam doughnuts

Anyone got any ideas what to do with 4 stale jam doughnuts. I hate waste.. I've heard a bread pudding would work? I've never made a standard bread pudding.. nor eaten one.

Any other ideas before I give that a go?

Microwave for 10s or so. Then totally edible again Grin

Redpriestandmozart · 10/08/2019 10:56

Sprinkle with water and pop in the oven for a few minutes (supposed to help stale loaf but don't quote me) sprinkle with sugar and serve with either ice cream or custard for pudding.

NoBaggyPants · 10/08/2019 10:56

Eat them! They'll still be full of sugary jamminess!

Glad I wasn’t the only one willing to eat them 😂😂

NannyR · 10/08/2019 10:58

Just check that the jam isn't as hot as molten lava before biting into them if you decide to microwave them!

FiveLittlePigs · 10/08/2019 10:59

How did you let jam doughnuts get stale? That is surely THE crime of the century!

Grin
YesQueen · 10/08/2019 11:00

I would microwave them and eat with custard
Damn you low carb diet Grin

Synecdoche · 10/08/2019 11:02

Cut them in half (lengthways) and pop them under the grill.

Madvixen · 10/08/2019 11:03

Turn them into a bread and butter pudding! Stale doughnuts are amazing for that, although Krispy Kreme Original Glazed are the best ones

chatwoo · 10/08/2019 11:05

give 'em 5-10 seconds in the microwave, pair up with a cup of coffee/tea and ENJOY!

ememem84 · 10/08/2019 11:12

Personally I’d just eat them as they are.

But you could throw them in a trifle. Cover with raspberries jelly and custard....

Littlebelina · 10/08/2019 11:15

Another for a quick microwave blast and then eat!

AwayWithTheJoys · 10/08/2019 11:18

@FiveLittlePigs everyone has been coming round to visit our 3 week old baby. Currently have so many fresh cookies, homemade crumble, cheesecake, doughnuts and trifle.. the doughnuts lost out to the fresh baked cookies. Don't want to waste them though Grin

I read this as STATE jam doughnuts and thought boris had come up with more pointless PR.

TheFaerieQueene · 10/08/2019 12:19

Make a bread and butter pudding type thing with them.

YesQueen · 10/08/2019 12:20

@AwayWithTheJoys that sounds amazing. I suppose it would be a bit drastic to have a baby just for the free food 😂🤔

FiveLittlePigs · 10/08/2019 12:20

Aw how lovely!

SpamChaudFroid · 10/08/2019 12:23

Microwave! It's their only hope of salvation!

This would probably get my vote.Grin

Tracklements · 10/08/2019 12:25

Wrap in foil and put on the barbecue (not the right weather today for it obviously, they'd blow away!)

WickedGoodDoge · 10/08/2019 13:23

I would still eat them. Stale jam doughnuts are better than no jam doughnuts at all (or trying to do something strange with them- sacrilege!)
