Mumsnet husbands

My adult son is coming over today to help me pack up the house ready for moving.
I'm going to spend some time showing him the shit husband threads on Mumsnet, just to make sure he never turns into one of them.
What i've read this week beggars belief.

Feel free to add any terrible husband stories to this thread.

I know what you mean. I tend to read a bit of MN when I'm feeling sorry for myself about being a single parent. I'm doing everything by myself, but at least I knew that when I got into this. Plus I don't have the added annoyance of knowing that the person who's supposed to be my team-mate and equal partner is doing fuck-all.

I occasionally come on to those threads after DH has done something daft to reassure myself he's actually an adult.

I'm gonna sound selfish and bitchy but that's not my intention, I find it reassuring in an odd way reading about others who have useless men (term used very loosely) that don't contribute emotionally or financially to their family. My husband is not a good role model for our son's however they are both adamant they are not going to be like him and they have very little respect for him. It's good that they know how not to behave and I think it's good to show them posts on here about others with similar issues so they don't feel like they're the only ones with a twat for a father.

I got divorced a decade and a half ago. My ex sounds pretty good compared to threads I’ve read recently.

When DP irritates me by not putting laundry in the basket, I read those threads to remind myself that actually he's bloody brilliant and one flaw does not a dickhead make!
