Niece's birthday is looming. Does anyone have any good ideas of things 2 year old girls will LOVE to get my Aunty points?

Many thanks!

Pushchair with a baby in it was always a winner for my 3.They also loved their shopping trolleys which they happily took around the supermarket whilst I took my big one.John Lewis do a really lovely mini Waitrose trolley that lasted us nearly 6 years with constant use! Melissa and Doug do some lovely toys as well.

Toy toaster/pizza/cake/veg - the type with Velcro to stick bits together and cut them up.

Isadora2007 · 09/08/2019 16:10

A mini rucksack full of child friendly craft stuff or with a cuddly toy.

A magnetic wooden ice cream set where the ice cream sticks to the cones.

A wheely bug in ladybird or bumblebee or tiger design

New shoes (take her shopping for them!)

A mini trampoline

Wooden building blocks in a trolley.

A mini micro scooter.

Love the wooden ice cream sets (and tea sets), but the nice wooden ones seem to say 3+. Sad

See, how lovely is this? But 3 years and up (and nervous first time mother who might actually take notice, I think).

Anything with peppa pig on it!

There can't be anything in this sort of thing that would be dangerous to a 2 year old, can there?

DD has had very good mileage out of a little shopping basket. Or a little backpack. Bonus points from parents in that they don't take up much space.

My nightmare is people giving dd a huge present that takes up half the room and has noises and lights.

Mildpanic · 09/08/2019 18:20

Are you anywhere near a Homebargains. They have loads of stuff suitable for this age.

Whitney168 · 09/08/2019 18:22

My nightmare is people giving dd a huge present that takes up half the room and has noises and lights.

Yes, am trying to avoid those.

Sod it, I'm tempted to go for the ice cream set I linked. Cherries look to be attached to the lower level, so I don't think will be an issue. If it looks troublesome when it arrives, I'll put it away for next year.

Was going to get her a little outfit too, but did see a very cute backpack earlier so might go for that.

My DD got this for her second birthday, her aunt said she chose it because it was one of the few chopping fruit sets that said “2+ years” rather than 3+. She adores it and it gets played with a lot:

She also loves
Tea set
Till
Oven
A cardboard box and a sponge scoured pretending to wash up! Basically anything I here she can role play real life stuff she sees us doing all the time

soloula · 09/08/2019 18:36

We have a tin tea set like that one OP and it's been well used and played with.

Watch some of the wooden food sets, as some of them have bits that can easily be put in the mouth of a two year old and choke them. DD1 nearly choked on a wooden biscuit when she was 4.

Janod do lovely wooden puzzles. The pieces can also be used as wee characters to play with.

Aquadoodle is a big hit in our house too.

Whitney168 · 09/08/2019 18:56

Oooh did look at Aquadoodle earlier.
