So I’ve just finished a phone call with a perfectly nice customer service rep for a company dealing with our house insurance.
I called because despite the covering letter having both our names on the agreement listed only DP (male) as customer and only his signature required. Assuming a mistake I called to get docs reissued with both names...
- they can only put one name on docs??
- it’s DHs because they usually use the man’s name (despite the fact I filled in the forms, my name was listed first & the money comes out MY bank acc!!)
- they could add my name as MrDP & Mrs Musical DPsurname but as we’re ‘not married’ he can’t do that. Eh, who says we’re not married? I may have just kept my own name!
Honestly, it’s a first world problem but it’s the 40 millionth example of this since we moved into our new house at the start of summer & I’m hacked off. Politely suggested he raised with higher up manager that the may need to update their system in line with the 20th century - not even the 21st if that was too modern for them 🤔
