Dd turns 11 next weekend. She has asked for a sleepover and I said no but now I feel bad. This is the first summer I've had to work through the school holidays and want to say yes to a sleepover.

We have no spare room so they would have to sleep downstairs. Which is ok, we have two long sofas and could fetch a mattress down. But how can I entertain them cheaply?

I am thinking, evening run around in the park (big play area) or if the weather is poor we have an indoor trampoline centre. Then pizza and netflix films.
At what age do you leave them to it in terms of film watching and messing around all night sleeping?

your plan sounds good. i would also leave some nail polish, mats (so none gets on the carpet) and some hair bands so they can paint each other's nails and do each other's hair. once they have watched the film, i would pop in to take the pizza boxes away and suggest that they get changed into pyjamas (if they haven't already)

Good idea about the nail polish/ hair salon type activity.

I did this for my goddaugnetr when she turned 10. My advice would be to keep the numbers down, get pizza, films, etc and pretty much leave them to it. In my case, they finally all dropped off to sleep around 1am. Suggest you go for Friday or Saturday night so you can recover

Face masks, nails, temporary tattoos,films,snacks...all sound good. The. The getting to sleep bit is always the point where I say "never again...". How many kids will there be? I would say quieten down at 10pm,but sometimes it's got to 1/2am and I've lost the plot completely and ended up splitting them up. They still have fun,but we definitely don't! We only do sleepovers with 1 other kid now...

I recently did this and think you are over thinking it. My child is the same age, I took myself upstairs to my room at 7pm and they had the living room. They watched Netflix, YouTube, ate snacks, and played on trampoline in garden. They came at 6pm and I just gave them pizza. They entertained each other until the small hours. Though I was upstairs I did listen out though and didn't sleep until they were all asleep so was tired next day.
