Help me identify a famous person!

Today I saw someone and thought "hold on, I know you..." and then I realised, she's a TV actress. Except I don't know her name and can't place what I've seen her in, and it's driving me mad! Can you help me? She looked like a slightly older version of the attached picture, maybe late 40s or 50s, tall and slim.

Please put me out of my misery!

Try the cast list from Death in Paradise. Loads of people you'd recognise crop up in that, so perhaps she's one of them!

Oh no I'm so sorry, @BananaSpanner did say Samantha Bond hours ago and clearly I didn't pay attention. I could have saved us all hours of agony!

Until my DF gently explained why it wasn't a good idea, I was dead set on calling in with some information that I was certain would provide a valuable lead and maybe help them solve the case - the registration number of the car that they used in their televised reconstruction video

She is such a wonderful actress, with a lovely and expressive face. She did look stunning in Silk.
