Anyone get breakthrough bleeding on pill?

I’m a little bit concerned about the bleeding I’m getting. I take cileste and have been taking it for years with no problems. I tend to take it for around three months without a break, just so I have less periods. Doctor says this is fine. I occasionally get a bit of spotting, which I assumed was down to taking it for longer periods.

I had a break around three weeks ago and forgot to start again at the correct time, so started a day or two late. Bleeding started up after about a week or two of taking it again, which I put down to not starting my new pack on time. But it was quite heavy and I had period pains with it, which isn’t something I’ve experienced before. I’m now still bleeding two weeks later, not very heavy and mostly only when I wipe but sometimes enough to actually come out and need sanitary products. I’m also still having slight cramping at times. Any breakthrough bleeding in the past has usually only been spotting for a day or two. Is this something anybody else has experienced as a normal part of taking the pill?

Me. Had scans etc to check, but nothing found. Not sure if it’s down to age (41) but Gp didn’t mention that!

Yes I'm 42 on Cerazette, getting breakthrough bleeds despite taking it at the same time every day. I shouldn't be getting periods at all on this Pill!

Me. It's almost constant this packet. I'm going to go back onto the combined pill, I think (I'm on the 12 hour POP).

But, I'm also going to ask for blood tests as I'm 43 soon, so it could be an age thing.
