Mice!

We have a mouse problem. They seem to be getting in through a hole in a pipe by the back door. The cat sleeps there and every morning we find a dead mouse. I have tried humane traps and a plug in. Neither works. Attempts to tape up the hole have not worked. We have found dead mice lying around who have evaded the cat and starved to death. I am sure there are more under the washing machine. What on Earth can we do??!! There are shoes in a rack there and they get in the shoes to get away from the cat.

You will just have to ride it out I'm afraid we live in the countryside and we have this problem. Make sure they can't get to any food and eventually they will go away. I am amazed how the little blighters can squeeze through tight holes. My cat was driven crazy by all their scratching and squeaking. One even made a cozy nest in one of my handbags!

I have the same problem. They are getting through an external air brick and then behind my kitchen cupboards. I rarely see them but most certainly hear them. They did manage a breakthrough last year by chewing the back panel of one of the cupboards so I set 6 traps. Didn't catch a single one of the blighters. I scrunched up chicken wire and blocked the hole and all was quiet for 6 months. Now they are back. Cat is 18 and no longer a great mouser and they don't seem at all deterred by him. Tried every sort of bait you can imagine in the traps from peanut butter to chocolate and everything in between but they seem keener on chewing the panels and the waste pipe under the sink (that game cost me dearly!)

I don't mind mice at all but I do wish they would stop the amount of damage!

I used to get really upset at the cat catching them and torturing them to death. I kept releasing them. Now I don’t care..
