Reservoirs and old quarries also put the fear of god into me as a child.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 08/08/2019 23:03

Terrifying. I've never been keen on the sea

@SexFarmWoman and falling in a silo of grain.

How do you get out of a silo of grain?

This has turned out to be an interesting thread well done
I’ve always had an interest in things like natural disasters too as a child I was terrified I had aids
Because it was always on tv adverts
When I was so young didn’t even know what sex was
Flipping I’m weird !!

So Sorry to hear about Clacton

Toitoitoi you can't. Ditto slurry pits. My DGPs farmed until I was 5 and I remember giving the slurry pit a very wide birth.

Quarries are very dangerous. I went to school next to a quarry as a child. It's now a nature reserve...I'm told it's nice but I won't go there because I will die or be raped. It was totally drummed into me from the age of 5 - 16 during many school assemblies how dangerous it was.

The sea? Meh, stay between the flags and you'll be fine. Probably. And never try to save your dog if it falls in. That's a sure way to die.

Does anyone remember the MNer was riding in the beach and the horse drowned? Sad

Lardlizard · 09/08/2019 15:29

Lynette No I don’t remember that

Burnham on Sea. I used to live near there and people were forever getting in trouble.
